Now in its fourth year, the LONDON ACTORS WORKSHOP offers a variety of in depth acting workshops in the heart of the West End.
Read on below to see for yourself how we have helped aspiring actors...

This course gave me a much greater knowledge of acting and how to break in to the industry.
Several teachers worked very closely with us and as a result of this course and the brilliant showcase I found my agent.
I had the pleasure of meeting one the UK's best combat Master teachers, Brett Yount, and followed his combat Master Classes to gain further qualifications in Stage and Screen Combat.
Because the course was so good I took it TWICE!

I found the course to be very well organised and structured, and covered all aspects of the acting profession, both performing and the business side. John Melainey's classes were particularly impressive and filled with the sort of inside info you only find out through years of experience. Since completing the course I find my confidence at auditions is greatly improved. I've secured a major agent and I've subsequently been featured in a new BBC comedy pilot and also a new Sondheim revue on the stage. I'd recommend the London Actors Workshop to anyone who feels their acting needs a spring clean for 2008.

It is very good value for money. The sessions on method acting are guaranteed to rip you to pieces emotionally. The combat day is great fun. And John Melainey is to personal coaching what Genghis Khan was to teaching a peasant about soldiering, which is actually great if you really want to learn hard lessons in a few hours!
Three months after the course I auditioned successfully for an agent - the LAW class on how to behave at auditions helped a lot. Four months after that I got the lead in a Sky TV promo - for which the class on acting on-camera helped immensely. And two months after that I got a stage role at Equity rate playing the dual lead - undoubtedly thanks to LAW acting classes.
At the age of 60 I'm setting out on a new career thanks to LAW!

We had some brilliant practitioners leading the sessions, which made my learning experience not only helpful but varied. The classes catered to all 'kinds' of actor and from each tutor I took away at least one piece of advice, some invaluable.
Also, on a general note, I think it's extremely beneficial for actors to have a group they can touch base with regularly - after graduation acting can so often become a solitary pursuit and I find this can be detrimental at times. I'd recommend the course to anyone looking to refine their skills in a supportive yet challenging environment (that is also affordable and can fit in neatly with the rest of their life!)

Since taking the LAW course I have enrolled on the MA in Theatre & Performance Studies course at Rose Bruford College of Performing Arts, been accepted onto Spotlight, am staging an exhibition on the work of Constantin Stanislavski at the National Theatre in April 2008, have been given roles in two films, a play and a pantomime, and in the latter won a South London Theatre Oscar. I've also earned enough money to easily pay back the course fee and gained a second profession.
So if you do the LAW course, be careful, because it's a life-changing event!

I have been a film extra since 1998 and wanted to take an acting course but was always too afraid of making a fool of myself. Well there is no such thing on this course.
I really enjoyed what the classes had to offer and working with a variety of tutors stretched and challenged me and kept me interested and wanting to learn more. My classmates were also supportive and constructive.
I am now with Debbie Edler Management and Spotlight all of which I can thank the London Actors Workshop for. I am also an Equity member. I recently played a nanny in a pilot for Channel 4 called 'Watching You'. This has all been a great experience and learning opportunity and I look forward to more.

In all honesty I was a bit apprehensive about the LAW at first as I've never done a workshop before but a few of my friends had heard about the LAW and I decided to give it ago and what a brilliant decision it was. Each week we did something different and the learning was non-stop.
What the LAW and its tutors do is give you the tools to work on skills you never had or things you are weak at. On top of that they offer you great information and resources about the industry because they are actually working in the industry now. I've learnt so much in 12 weeks and haven't hesitated to recommend the course to friends.
Keep providing this great course and all the best for the future.
I've done 4 short films now one of which has been short listed for an award at the Limelight Film and Arts awards.
Steven Porter
I am always telling people that they should join London Actors Workshop. And those who join always thank me for pointing them in that direction.
I owe a lot to the London Actors Workshop for it showed me that I was right to pursue a career as an actor and went on to a Post Graduate Course in Acting which, now completed, makes me a Professional Actor and a working one at that.
As you also know, I am always threatening to come back and do it all again, because I believe that I will always be able to gain something of value by doing the course.
Jacqueline Loudon
An excellent course in the company of great people, within 3 days of the showcase I had 2 agents call me and was offered a part in a film, so thanks London Actors Workshop, it wouldn't have happened without you!
Mike Long
Brilliant! This course has really given me so much to think about. I want to continue learning with every tutor we've had because each class has been so invaluable. They really have given a massive step up.
Ivy Corbin
I am playing Ray Winstone's daughter in his next film and I could not have succeeded without the LAW course and the advice and help I received... thank you!
Lauren Vaknine
Great value for money. The sessions on casting technique and character building certainly helped me secure 2 roles last year.
Karen Scanes-Hunt
I really enjoyed the 12 weeks at LAW. The cost of the course was low compared to other competitors and the tutors will go out of their way to move you along to the upcoming showcase. It was fantastic!
Chris Watts
Being on the course has given me the opportunity to adapt my craft and try different styles of acting. It has also challenged my ability to act. Above all it has made my dream come true to perform on stage and I am now hungry for more!
Lydie Salima
I found the LAW course a fascinating insight to the world of acting, the different techniques used and what it takes in order to make progress.
Lee Donaghy
My memories of the course are still very fresh and the main memory is how quick the 12 weeks went and how soon we appeared to be performing our showcase. Sundays couldn't come round quick enough! The course was both thoroughly enjoyable and at times a little scary! It was great to be tutored by true professionals and the extra weekend Uta Hagen course taught by Val Colgan was also a valuable experience. I am currently finishing off my third short film (as writer/ director) One of the best experiences of the course was meeting new and like minded people.
Graeme Lloyd
The course was an eye opener for me, got the creative juices flowing and kick started my imagination, such an important part of acting. I have done a few little bits for The Golden Compass and a Bollywood film along with taking part in a corporate training video and the part of a bouncer in a Channel 5 drama. I am still pushing to move up the ladder, but even doing a bit of extra work you see how things work and all the time you are learning. Its nerve racking especially when you worry like me but what a buzz you get!!
