Saturday 5th OCTOBER – Sally Knyvette: Page to Stage – detailed script analysis & performance.

In this class we’ll work on our approach to a text, in particular, what’s the best way to attack a script once you’ve got the part. We’ll look at the many questions to ask, how to mark up the script, phrasing, actioning the lines, breathing, character and so on – a very strong classes from a very experienced actress!

Saturday 12th OCTOBER – Judith Quin: Vocal freedom & Confidence/Camera Technique 

In this class we’ll work on a practical approach to finding your voice (something often overlooked by actors) followed by scripted scenes on camera.

Saturday 19th OCTOBER – Glynne Steele: Daring Improv and Character Choices

You’ll work with some fascinating improv tools, make fresh, daring character choices and push your boundaries – an exciting and energising class, not for the nervous! You’ll be cast with a different scene partner this week.

 Saturday 26th OCTOBER – Peter Salter: Further Camera Technique (on camera)

Paying attention to the subtext of the scene, we’ll do a series of relaxation exercises to prep for filming, then film the scenes and play them back with critique.

Saturday 2nd NOVEMBER–  Daniel Dresner: Further developing your on-screen craft (on camera)

You’ll work on pre-learnt scripts and really get behind the actors’ and the characters’ thought process. We’ll finish with a 60-90 minute ‘actors’ business planning’ session.

Daniel Dresner
Actor, Tutor

Daniel has a strong, no-nonsense approach to acting on screen and as well as being an accomplished actor/tutor/director is also now a ‘life coach’ helping actors develop within our overcrowded industry. We’ll work on pre-learnt scripts and really get behind the actors’ and the characters’ thought process. Detailed work so please learn the scripts! You’ll be cast in advance with a scene partner and script – please be off book.

Judith Quin
Vocal Confidence Specialist, Actor, Tutor

Renowned Vocal and Confidence Coach and professional actor/tutor Judith will take you through a series of exercises designed to get the most from your vocal instrument, helping you gain the ‘presence’ essential for confident acting. You’ll also work on film scenes chosen by you in new pairs before a final session building your own action plan to go forward in the business – what do you need to do to take the next steps on your acting journey?

Ariella Eshed
Director, Tutor

Ariella has extensive experience as director and has worked at Lyric Hammersmith, Soho Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, King’s Head, and the Union Theatre, to name but a few. In 2005 she set up her own theatre company ‘Tik-sho-ret’, Hebrew for ‘Communication’. In this class we’ll work on ‘Michael Chekhov techniques’ and focus on Archetypes, Tensions and, if time, Elements. Excellent for ‘building a character’. You’ll work on a monologue of your choosing – options sent out in advance.

Peter Salter
Actor, Tutor

Peter Salter, familiar to those of you from the 12 Week Acting for Film & TV course and members of The Actors Centre, Covent Garden, will pay particular attention to close ups and ‘relaxing on camera’, said by many big name actors to be a key ingredient to great screen acting. You’ll be cast in advance with a scene partner and script – please be off book.
